Technical Data
The Caterpillar C7.1 Direct Injection engine is a robust inline 6-cylinder, 4-stroke diesel platform designed for reliability in harsh operating environments, specifically for Lesser Regulated Countries (LRC). Distinct from the electronic common-rail version, this "Direct Injection" model features a mechanically governed fuel injection system, making it highly tolerant of varying fuel quality and easier to service in the field. It has a displacement of 7.01 Liters (428 cu in) with a bore of 105 mm (4.13 in) and a stroke of 135 mm (5.31 in). Typically Turbocharged Aftercooled (TA), it produces a power output ranging from 112 kW to 151 kW (150 hp to 202 hp) at 2000–2200 RPM. This engine is engineered to meet Tier 3 / Stage IIIA equivalent emission standards while maximizing durability.
