The Caterpillar 3512C is a high-displacement V-12, 4-stroke diesel engine engineered for heavy-duty industrial, mining, and petroleum applications. It features a standard displacement of 51.8 Liters (3,161 cu in) with a bore of 170 mm (6.69 in) and a stroke of 190 mm (7.48 in), though High Displacement (HD) configurations with a 215 mm stroke are also available. The engine utilizes an advanced Electronic Unit Injection (EUI) or MEUI-C fuel system to optimize combustion and efficiency. Typically Turbocharged Aftercooled (TA) with twin turbochargers, the 3512C delivers a power output ranging from 1,120 kW to 1,860 kW (1,500 hp to 2,500 hp) at a rated speed of 1,200 to 1,800 RPM. It is designed to meet U.S. EPA Tier 2 or Tier 3 equivalent and IMO II emissions standards.
