The Cummins QSX15 is a heavy-duty inline 6-cylinder, 4-stroke diesel engine renowned for its reliability in demanding mining, agricultural, and industrial applications. It features a displacement of 15.0 Liters (912 cu in) with a bore of 137 mm (5.39 in) and a stroke of 169 mm (6.65 in). The engine utilizes Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) technology—one cam for high-pressure fuel injection and the other for valve operation—providing exceptional performance control. It is typically equipped with a Cummins XPI Extreme Pressure Injection fuel system or HPI-TP, depending on the tier, and is Turbocharged Air-to-Air Aftercooled. Power output ranges from 298 kW to 503 kW (400 hp to 675 hp) at a rated speed of 1800–2100 RPM, with peak torque reaching approximately 2050 lb-ft (2779 Nm) at 1400 RPM. This platform is engineered to meet varying emission standards from Tier 2 up to Tier 4 Final/Stage V.
